Quake4 Demo released

Nachdem letzte Woche schon eine Demo den Weg auf ID Softwares FTP gefunden hat, welche letztendlich aber nicht die richtige war, hat es jetzt endlich die echte Demo von Quake4 zu einem Release geschafft. Der Download wiegt 325 Megabyte und beinhaltet 2 Multiplayer Maps. Die Demo gibt es für Windows und Linux, Mirrors hänge ich an.
PS: Vielen Dank an Gator, der John Carmack mit seinem Wissen unterstützt hat, eventuell ist die Engine ja noch besser geworden als im echten Release.

Quake 4 Patches und SDK

Am Mittwoch wurden die ersten Quake 4 Patches und endlich das Q4 SDK released. Somit werden bald aus q4max und x-battle richtige Modifikationen hervorgehen. Der Patch behebt auch einige Sachen, die meisten Fehler wurden aber im Interface behoben. Lokale Mirrors der Patches stehen zur verfügung.

Die ganze Quake4 Modder Szene wartet sehnsüchtig auf das Q4 SDK, um vernünftige Mods zu machen, wie z.b. OSP oder CPMA. Das warten könnte nun bald ein Ende haben, denn die Doku Seiten zum Q4 SDK sind online geschaltet worden! Es dürfte also nun auch nicht mehr lange dauern, bis das SDK zum Download bereitsteht.

Ab sofort könnt ihr auch den Q4 Server unter dem Punkt: Kundencenter live einsehen. Die Scores fehlen bisher, weil sie beim abfragen einfach ned mitgeliefert werden. Sollte ein zukünftiger Patch das beheben, werde ich es natürlich einbauen 🙂

Auch wenn man es gerade nur teilweise kaufen kann: Activision hat eine Pressemitteilung rausgegeben wonach das Spiel nun offiziell released ist! Der Linux Dedicated Server ist leider noch nicht da, auf einen WoH Kundencenter Server müsst ihr also noch ein wenig warten. In den meisten Geschäften soll Quake 4 ab 20.10. verkauft werden, mit Glück bekommt man es aber auch schon vorher.
